GAME OF THRONES COVER DESIGN

A mid-century modern inspired redesign of Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. This cover came about because of an assignment in my advanced illustrator class. The assignment was to create a mid-mod dust jacket design for a popular book. I chose GoT because it has such iconic imagery and hasn't really had any significant cover updates. I chose to pull out some of the most iconic and recognizable symbols of the iron throne and dragons and take the colors blue and red which are associated with ice and fire. I went with a more muted blue that was popular in color palettes from the mid-mod area. I really loved this project and the final outcome for this one.
